Dutch artist Anna M. G. Keulen was born in 1965 in the Southern region of the Netherlands.

Since a very young age she enjoyed experimenting with markers to give real color to her rich imagination, and to this day you will find coloring pencils and crayons in her bag.

After high school she received her nurses diploma (A-verpleegkundige) and was active in many hospitals all around the Netherlands.

She was then blessed with three beautiful children and after the birth of her second child she decided to dedicate more time at home and become a family manager. After this Anna became a primary school teacher. During this time she couldn’t ignore the passion she had for exploring her creativity. This enthusiasm lead her to start at the

School of Art (IKO te Hoogstraten, Belgium), where she completed her study in 2013.

Today Anna M.G.Keulen known for her use of vivid color and eccentric graphic elements.

With her paintings she tells a story. A story constructed by many layers, come to life with a colored palette. Her big family, the island of Curacao and cartoons, inspire her everyday. The artist loves cartoons, “it is fascinating to see how emotion is portrayed in linework” says Anna.

You can always spot a graphic game in her artwork. All the separate elements in her paintings work in harmony to tell her touching story. Her paintings,which are created using acrylic paint with unexpected symbolism tend to symbolise an important experience in her life.

Her work is described as “feel good artwork”. Through the use of a rich color palette and recognisable cartoon characters,people feel an incredible energy on the canvas.

Anna actively participates in European art shows and her paintings are in many private collections in the world.
